Korina

1rst word that comes to your mind: Cookie

Megan

1rst word that comes to your mind: She told me that was “an impossibility”, since she had a scientific mind and was probably going to start nose bleeding because of the immense possibility that it implies. So she couldn’t find a word.

I was at a food court, really hungry and as soon as I saw Korina I knew I wanted to open them. Korina was wearing a leopard shirt so I saw her from far away. They looked pretty nice and open to conversation so it was pretty easy to get them to tell me their anectode. They both met for the first time when they were in elementary school in Montreal because they lived really close from each other. Megan is now studying “Education for Science” at McGill University and she really enjoy it. I asked Megan to start with her anectdote since she found it first:

Megan: Tell me the 1rst FUN anecdote or story that comes to your mind and that happened to you lately: She had a kind of geeky joke as a story, that admitedly needed some explaination to understand. It went something like this: “Johnny was a chemists son, but johnny is no more. What Johnny thought was H2O was H2SO4.” Ok, so basically Johnny poured himself a glass of what he thought was water (H2O) but it was in fact sulfuric acid (H2SO4) so he died. I think it’s a scientific “joke” in labs to remind student to consider all substance dangerous unless tested otherwise, which i found interesting! Megan then went on saying her story sucked but i insisted it was funny and instructive at the same time and that made her unique! She answered back “Yeah, some friends would say I’m special” 😉

Korina: Tell me the 1rst FUN anecdote or story that comes to your mind and that happened to you lately: Korina had no clue what to say so Megan encouraged her by saying she always have something fun or new to tell so she wasn’t trying hard enough. So she came up with the “mom story”: She was walking on Ste-Catherine street with her Mom and when they arrived in front of a ‘High Times” store (hemp / marijuana store) she was afraid of how her mom would react. So I ask her if she meant her mom was “judging pot-smoking people” but no, it was the opposite! She said she was afraid she’d become one! So her mom insisted in going inside the store and asked her if it’d be cool to buy a pot water pipe (bong) and Korina was discouraged ;-). Then she explained me how her mom would drive her car and then, when a Bob Marley song played at the radio, her mom would pretend to roll a joint, then light it up and pretend to smoke for the whole song fully enjoying it. That was pretty hilarious. I reassured her that pretending to do something for the brain is almost the same as doing it for real, so it was just a way for her mom to relaxed. She laught and said that it meant she was being driven by her mom while she was high! Lol Everybody around in the food court started laughing because by that time they were all listening to our conversation and weird stories!

Last thing, I asked them for the picture. Since they were geeks, i told them i needed something geeky, and asked them if there was any “Geek hand gestures”. Megan smile and right away made a “West Side” yo sign… but then i notice it wasn’t exactly that, but rather she put her hands in a “Vulcan Salute”, or the Spock (from Star Trek) “Live long and prosper” sign. So we called it “Geek Side” and I asked them to get up and pose for me. They were really amazing!
