My Amazing 50 000 Reps Challenge - joelalain.com

THE 50 000 REPS EPIC BODY CHALLENGE

Can I accomplish 10 000 burpees, 10 000 pull-ups, 10 000 push-ups, 10 000 chair dips, 10 000 flights of stairs, 777 km of jogging and 3650 minutes of yoga and build solid habits to get into the best shape of my life?

  • TIME FRAME: January 1st, 2014 to December 31st, 2014
  • CHALLENGE:  10 000 burpees, 10 000 pull-ups, 10 000 push-ups, 10 000 chair dips, 10 000 flights of stairs, 777 km of jogging and 3650 minutes of yoga within one year with monthly checkpoints and tests.
  • WHY? I’ve never been able to be consistent in the past with my training, but always had this vision of the perfect successful person: wakes up and run EVERY morning no matter where they are, how they feel, if they are on vacation, if it’s -30 Celsius or pouring rain. Then train HARD like in the movie 300 (Spartans) every day no matter what. In other word, making training and health a life priority and MAKING TIME to do it every day, no excuse. And then continuing this or a variation of it all my life.
  • CONSEQUENCE for not achieving my goal by date:  being chubby, unhealthy and feeling like crap.

Uber Blog Growth Challenge

Uber Blog Growth Challenge

This is one EPIC challenge. The goal is to produce great, useful content on a weekly basis, push myself way outside my comfort zone, develop success habits and a great work ethic while growing my blog from 0 (started officially in November 2013) to 100 000 visitors total by the end of 2014. A humongous task and that’s why I love it.

  • TIME FRAME: February 1st, 2014 to December 31st, 2014
  • CHALLENGE:  Develop a world-class blog, read by at least 100 000 people within a year, with 5000+ subscribers, and a lot more. See the challenge description for more.
  • WHY? I really love blogging, really. And I love sharing my experiences, lessons learned and projects with other people. Although I don’t care if this blog makes money or not, it would be nice if it could bring some extra revenues and most importantly allow me to meet like-minded, amazing people, gurus and get access to special entrepreneur events. And for me, blogging is also one of the best tools for personal growth and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. This challenge will do all that.
  • CONSEQUENCE for not achieving my goal by date: not heading toward my life goals and living the life I really want.

100 Strangers Challenge

100 Strangers Challenge

The goal is to approach random strangers and ask them if they want to contribute to your project. You must approach 100 people anywhere and in any situation and it helps build journalistic skills (asking questions, remembering their story, convincing, relating to people, etc as well as photography). It’s all about stepping out of your comfort zone and have fun doing so. It might look easy but it’s pretty scary at first.

  • TIME FRAME: until December 31st, 2014
  • CHALLENGE:  Randomly approach 100 strangers in any situations and convince them to be part of your project
  • WHY? I’ve always loved photography and want to practice talking to strangers and making them comfortable. Also, it’s about practicing social skills and talking to anyone in any situation.
  • CONSEQUENCE for not achieving my goal by date:  None. I want to keep it simple for this challenge for now since I’m pretty busy with the other challenges.

  • TIME FRAME: until December 31st, 2014
  • CHALLENGE:  Think and execute 30 original themed photo challenges where I must take 10 pictures per theme that help me practice new or existing photography skills
  • WHY? I’ve procrastinated learning basic photo skills since 2004. Now it’s time to get going and start learning.
